Top 10 Bali Packing Must-Haves:

Having these 10 essential items will make your trip to Bali much smoother

1. The Shower Filter everyone uses in Bali:

The #1 mistake travelers make in Bali is underestimating the poor water quality.

Many have experienced SEVERE hair loss due to it!

My top tip: order the Travel with Hair shower filter as soon as you arrive.

Unlike Amazon filters made for US water, this one is designed to tackle Bali’s bacteria, heavy metals, and chemicals.

Plus, enjoy free same-day delivery via GoJek to protect your hair from the first shower.

2. Lightweight, Breathable Clothing:

Bali is hot and humid, so ditch the heavy fabrics: bring clothes that dry fast and let you breathe.

Expats in Bali wear super casual clothing so don’t stress about bringing your super nice, expensive dresses / shirts because that’s not really the vibe.

3. Suncream:

Suncream here is ridiculously expensive, so if you want to save money - bringing an adequate amount of suncream with you is a MUST.

4. Rain Coat:

Even if you are coming during dry season, the weather can be all over the place.

I recommend bringing an affordable and good quality raincoat with you as the ones that you can buy here that will ACTUALLY keep you dry cost upwards of $100!

5. Modest Attire for Bali Temples:

When visiting temples and immigration, you need to cover your shoulders and knees.

Make sure to pack a sarong in your luggage to avoid having to buy overpriced ones here.

6. Pack Comfortable Footwear for Bali

You’ll be walking a lot, so don’t skimp on comfortable shoes.

A good pair of sandals or sneakers will save you from sore feet and blisters.

7. Reusable Water Bottle:

Bali’s government are focusing a lot of their efforts on reducing plastic pollution so PLEASE bring your own reusable water bottle.

The one I have linked folds down when there is no water in it so its super travel-friendly.

8. Mosquito Repellent: A Bali Packing List Essential

Mosquitoes are all over the place here, and the amount of dengue cases has been consistently on the rise here.

Make sure to pack a good quality mosquito repellent to protect yourself from Dengue.

9. Portable Power Bank:

You will need access to your phone to get around Bali, whether it be because you are using Google Maps or because you are ordering Gojek’s so having access to a portable power bank is crucial.

10. Pack Your Favorite Toiletries for Bali

While Bali has plenty of shops for toiletries, you don’t really have the luxury of access to Western brands (unless you want to pay 2X the price of back home) so bring the basics with you—shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc.
